MUST University Is Legit?

Fraud! Scam! Swindle! You hear all about it all the time. Madoff, Ponzi, Soros. Innocuous looking individuals conning unsuspecting individuals out of millions of dollars. Your scepticism about online universities is but natural.

Let me introduce the scenario to you. More and more universities popping up online, promising you a degree or diploma, entirely online, without you even leaving your bedroom. Take MUST University for instance. Operates entirely online, you literally don’t have to leave the comfort of your home – anytime, anywhere access. Question is: how do you know for sure?

The gold standard recommended by academicians is a university’s “accreditation”. Apparently, a university needs to be accredited by what is known as an accrediting body before it can offer education to its students. This body is responsible for checking whether said institute meets the minimum standards to deem it eligible to offer courses. Meaning, a degree from an accredited university is acceptable, while a degree from an unaccredited university is not worth the paper it is printed on.

Now, MUST University has been approved and accredited by International Accreditation Organization (IAO), which provides global accreditation to educational institutes. So? Shouldn’t accreditation be by a regional or a national body? That is a common misconception, at it turns out.

National and regional accreditation only works for educational institutions that have a physical presence in some country or location in the world. For online universities, catering to students from every corner of the world, regional, or even national, accreditation for that matter, is a rather redundant concept. Hence the move towards international accreditation.

Leaving the technicalities aside, how else can you tell? A university like MUST that has literally tens of thousands of graduates, in secure jobs, and constantly moving up the career ladder? And enrolment rates increasing every year? You must have heard it said “You can fool some people all the time, and you can fool all the people some of the time, but you can never fool all the people all the time”.

Do you really believe a university of MUST’s repute would have such a high enrolment rate year after year if it was being operated by a scam-artist? Wouldn’t some graduate have raised a stink if they presented their degree to their employer only to be told that MUST University is a fraud?  Defies logic don’t it?

So, if you ask me “Is MUST University legit?”, all I can say to you is “You bet!”
